Wonders with Potatoes – Potatoes are a relevant food item in the human diet in most countries. Since potatoes contain proteins, essential amino acids, carbohydrates, fiber and potassium, this makes them a high-quality food for human consumption. The proteins present in potatoes are of good quality, and the ratio between protein and calories indicates that potatoes are one of the best food alternatives for people, both in underdeveloped and developed countries. Potatoes are economically important among vegetables and are the fourth most important food crop in the world after wheat, rice and corn.


GNOCCHI Ingredients:
1 kg bintje potato,
2 cups of wheat flour,
1 cup of cornstarch,
2 spoons of mayonnaise,
2 spoons of butter,
1 yolk and salt to taste.
How to do it: Cook the potatoes and mash them, forming a puree. Mix the puree with the other ingredients and put everything in a floured surface. Knead during about 4 minutes or until you get a dough firm. Divide the dough into 2.5 cm portions and form balls. If you prefer, try marking the balls with the tines of a fork. Put them to boil in a pot of water. Heated , until the Gnocchi are cooked or float in the water. Okay, now it’s just a matter of choosing the sauce which pleases you the most.

JULIAN SALAD
Ingredients:
200 g of potato, sliced (on a very thin stick),
1 bell pepper cut into thin slices,
150 g of chicken breast,
4 kanikama,
2 spoons (tea) of sesame,
sauce for salad, lemon and a
little lettuce.
Cooking method: Potatoes and peppers (separated): place in boiled water for 5 seconds and drain. Dip in ice water and drain. season the chicken with salt and pepper. Put a slice of lemon on top. Put it on for 2 to 3 minutes in the microwave and shred. Also unravel the kanikama and season with salad dressing. On a plate, place the lettuce and then the potato. Garnish with bell pepper and sesame.

PRINCESS
Ingredients:
1 cup of boiled potato and squeezed,
1 can of unsweetened cream whey,
1 can of condensed milk,
200 g of shredded coconut,
1 tsp vanilla and straws.
How to do it: Mix the first 5 ingredients, and the coconut is what gives the point. Fill the straws with this stuffing (preferably just before eat).
