According to Celtic tradition, the apple has many miraculous properties thanks to its component. It is considered an extremely healthy food. By consuming apples every day, we can prevent the occurrence of many health problems and diseases. This fruit is a real treasure trove of ingredients that have a positive effect on the body. Depending on the variety, 100 grams contain approximately 85 grams of water, 10.9 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of dietary fiber. An apple contains up to 40 mg of vitamin C, then vitamins A, E, B1, B2, B6 and beta-carotene. It also contains minerals, a lot of potassium up to 180 mg, calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and iron. Due to the large amount of carbohydrates, especially fructose and glucose, it supplies the body with energy, prevents fatigue and loss of concentration. Although some types of fruit are much richer in vitamin C, apples, thanks to the combination of vitamins, minerals and other substances, stimulate the immune system and are very effective in the fight against viruses, bacteria and the destructive influence of free radicals. This is precisely why it protects against colds, and in the fight against malignant cells, for example, it has been proven to reduce the risk of colon cancer. Thanks to carotene, it protects against the effects of harmful UV rays. Among other things, because it contains pectin and cellulose, apples stimulate and regulate digestion, stabilize intestinal flora and help with digestive problems, especially diarrhea and constipation. Apple has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system. It prevents the accumulation of harmful substances in the blood, lowers high cholesterol, fights against clogging of blood vessels and thus reduces the risk of thrombosis and atherosclerosis, and also has a positive effect on the work of the heart.
