During storage, lemons are often treated with wax containing antimycotic substances. Before eating, lemons should be washed very thoroughly in hot water using a brush. This is especially important if you are going to use zest.

Lemons are stored in refrigerators unwashed and without bags. Cut lemon is recommended to be stored in the refrigerator under the lid for no more than 1 day.
