AN APPLE A DAY KEEPS DOCTOR AWAY –
The apple is filled with a delicious wealth of vitamins and other vital elements. It is especially rich of vitamin C, which is very well protected inside the apple as a result of the big amount of bioflavonoid. It is also rich of a very important fiber: pectin. The amount of pectin inside an apple can be up to 30 % and this fiber is beneficial in lowering our cholesterol and our blood lipid levels, it binds toxins like lead and mercury and it inhibits harmful ferment formations and bacteria settlements in the intestine.
The malic acid contained in the apple decreases the uric acid level in our blood and is therefore used in therapeutic treatment for gout and rheumatism. Eating an apple a day is certainly a very good idea, especially when it is an organic grown apple and it is eaten with its skin.
