SOUTHERN SWEET TEA WITH LIME & MINT

Refreshing and refined, sweet tea is the American South’s thirst quencher of choice. This is pure pleasure in a glass.

MAKES 12 CUPS

TOTAL TIME 10 MINUTES

INGREDIENTS

12 cups water, divided 1 gallon-size black tea bag 1 ½ cups sugar Lime rounds or wedges Sprigs of fresh mint

INSTRUCTIONS

Bring 4 cups water to a boil in a large saucepan. Add tea bag, cover, and steep 510 minutes.

Remove bag, squeeze dry, then stir in the sugar until dissolved. Add the remaining 8 cups water; chill until cold.

Serve tea over ice with limes and mint sprigs.
