Pineapple Upside Cake

  • Ingredients for Pineapple Upside-Down Cake

For 6/8 people:
200 gr. sugar
140 gr. butter
1 egg
lukewarm milk
200 g. flour
1 sachet of yeast
butter and sugar
pineapple slices
candied cherries

Work the sugar for a long time with 140 gr. of butter, remove 100 gr. and to the rest add, still working well, a whole egg, the flour, a pinch of salt, the yeast and continue to work, adding warm milk to obtain a soft dough. Spread the butter and sugar (previously set aside) in a pan and decorate with preserved pineapple slices, previously drained and dried well. A candied cherry is placed in the center of the slices, other slices are divided into small pieces to cover the holes left between one and the other. Pour the pasta over everything and bake at 180 ° C for about 60 minutes. Turn the pan onto an ovenproof dish, let it cool, remove the pan and sprinkle the cake with sugar. Put it under the grill of the oven for the caramel to form.
