Valentine’s Day Cake

340 g flour
300 g sugar
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 teaspoons baking powder
300 ml vegetable oil
280 ml buttermilk or kefir
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon red gel food coloring
For the cream:
260 g cream cheese
250 g butter
150 g icing sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 170 ° C. Prepare two molds with a diameter of 18 cm, covering them with parchment paper. If you only have one mold, prepare the dough in two steps.
Beat eggs together with sugar until white and add vanilla extract. Then add food coloring and mix well.
Add kefir to the egg-sugar mass along with vegetable oil, mix again with a mixer.
Sift the remaining dry ingredients.
In several steps, add the flour mixture to the kefir, mix with a mixer. The finished dough should turn out to be burgundy. If not, add more dye.
Pour the dough into molds and bake for 30 minutes. Willingness to check with a toothpick. Cool completely and cut off the convex tops with a knife.
Prepare the cream. Butter and cream cheese must be at room temperature. Send the chopped butter to a food processor along with the powdered sugar and beat for 10 minutes.
Add vanilla extract and a tablespoon of milk, mix well. Add cream cheese and stir until smooth with a wooden spatula.
Cover the cake with cream and decorate as you wish.
